JoJo Siwa put someone on edge.
In a video posted to her mother Jessalynn Siwa‘s Instagram Stories on Dec. 19, the superstar cryptically called out a person she says was taking advantage of her fame. After being asked off-camera by someone why she’s “crazy,” JoJo replied as she paced back and forth in what appeared to be a hotel suite, “Because I got used to it, for views and for influence.”
JoJo continued, “I was tricked into being told I was in love and I was played f-king.”
The video comes two days after TikToker Avery Cyrus confirmed that she had broken up with the “Boomerang” singer. In a TikTok video featuring footage from their recent Royal Caribbean cruise, JoJo held up an arcade game prize and told the social media star, “This is my ‘Sorry for Breaking Up With You’ gift.”
After a fan asked why the couple quit in the comments section, Avery replied, “We’ve decided we’re better off as friends! We’re both so young and still trying to figure our things out!”

Amid the breakup, Avery also posted a few cryptic TikTok videos of herself, including one clip posted on Dec. 10 where she stated as referring to the Taylor Swift song: “Karma is my boyfriend.” In another movie posted Dec. 16, Avery said she’s in her “healing era.” In another movie posted on TK, Avery stated as a reference to Taylor Swift’s song, “Karma is my boyfriend.”
JoJo, 19, and Avery, 22, first went public with their romance on Sept. 13, with the Dance moms alum shares a TikTok video of the couple kissing in front of a Chuck E. Cheese photo booth. Two days later, the two made their red carpet debut as a couple on opening night of Alanis Morrisette‘s music Knurled little pill at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles.
At the time, JoJo gushed about her new girlfriend to E! News, calling Avery “so positive” and “so fun to be around”.
“Our personalities fit together so well, and I think that’s something really important,” she said on Oct. 12. “She’s so positive. She makes me feel so good. I think I make her feel so good.”
JoJo added, “My whole family, all my friends love and respect her life. She brings so much energy to my bubble and I’m really, really thankful.”
Prior to Avery, JoJo dated a friend Kylie Prew. The duo first started dating in February 2021 before splitting up later that year. They gave their romance another try in the summer, but broke up for a second time in August.
