by As Florida’s football season winds down, attention turns to scholarship counting season.
After a lot of work on transforming the FSU roster, it started to look much more like an FSU roster and the roster FSU head coach Mike Norvell wants this season. Coming off a 9-3 2022 season, their best in several years, the Seminoles are finally starting to show signs of promise under Norvell.
There will be quite a few players returning in next year’s 2023 season, a mix of younger players showing signs of development and older players deciding to postpone their professional careers for at least one more season.
Below is an updated overview of the number of FSU scholarships. It still includes the players who have not yet announced any NFL draft decisions, as well as those who have announced they are entering the transfer portal but will remain with the team. Also included are the 18 players currently included in the Seminoles’ 2023 class, either high school seniors or transfers.
As the current expected number of scholarships remains above 85, it shows that there will be more attrition as the FSU likely looks to clear a few more spots for more high school transfers or additions.
